Fabric Softener, safe for towels too!

Fabric Softener

Because it is vinegar-based, this is safe and effective for clothes and towels!

6 cups vinegar
1 cup baking soda
1 cup hot water
1 cup hair conditioner
            or 20 drops essential oil
or ¼ - ½ cup scent booster pellets

Mix the hot water and hair conditioner in a half-gallon container.  In a separate bowl, add all of the baking soda and incrementally add the vinegar.  Let it set until the bubbles subside.  Add this to the container, shaking well to mix.  Add ¼ to ½ cup to the rinse cycle in the washer, shaking before each use.

I also add about 1/2 Tbsp. of Resolve stain spray on occasion.  My hubby is one of those that really like heavily-scented laundry, and that's just one easy way to do it.

* Dollar store conditioner works just fine – or if you're really on the cheap, packets of conditioner from hotels or free samples from the mail.
