Fabric Softener Sheets -- 2 easy options!

You can't go wrong with either option, if dryer sheets are your thing!  I have found that adding a bit of my homemade fabric softener is sufficient to cut the static and add a yummy fluff to my laundry.

Fabric Softener Sheets

3 cups homemade fabric softener
OR 1 cup commercial softener plus 2 cups water
½ cup hydrogen peroxide (to keep mildew from forming)
6 washcloths or squares of thicker cotton cloth (about 5” or 6” square), doubled*

Pour the liquids into a flip top container (like a baby wipe container) or one with a tight fitting lid.  Store your cloth in the mixture, and when ready to use, wring it out just until it will not drip.  Toss one into the dryer with your load.  Reuse as needed.

* To double your fabric, sew two washcloths or cotton fabric squares together.  They don’t need to be pretty… just thick enough to hold a decent amount of softener.  A single cloth diaper works well too!

Dried Fabric Softener Sheets

3 cups homemade fabric softener
OR 1 cup commercial softener plus 2 cups water
6 washcloths or squares of thicker cotton cloth (about 5” or 6” square), doubled*

Soak several washcloths or other thick, finished-edge cotton cloth (about 6”x6”) into your fabric softener mixture.  Wring out just until avoid drips.  Hang to dry.  Store in a covered container until ready to use.  Throw one into the dryer with wet clothes.
